Song Title: "There's A Stirring"
Group: Caedmon's Call
Album: "My Calm//Your Storm"

The lead guitar in this song, the one playing the intricate picking, is
Derek's. It is tuned to DGDGAD (that's a drop Gsus2, btw). It is capoed
at the 2nd fret. I will not list that part, though, as Derek and I don't
want to encourage people to try the tuning; guitar strings are prone to
break at that, and we don't wanna cause that! :-(

Cliff's part is a simpler part in D, on a standard tuned guitar capoed at
the 2nd fret (which means the song is really in A). I will list is in its
entirety.

Cliff: (Capo 2, all chords relative to capo)

Intro:
  (Alt. Tuned guitar)

Verse:
   G                  G
  There's a stirring deep within me
   G              G
  Could it be my time has come
   G               G
  When I'll se my gracious Savior
   G                 G
  Face to face when all is done
   G                G
  Is that His voice I am hearing
   G            G
  Come away my precious one

Bridge:
   C     D       G    G
  Is He calling me?
   C     D       G    G   G   G
  Is He calling me?

Chorus:
   G           D
  I will rise up
   Em  C
  Rise up
   G       C
  And bow down
   G          C
  And lay my crown
   G      D       C
  at His wounded feet

Interlude:
  Strum G

-------
 And then the entire song is repeated. I know it looks easy; it
  is! If you just strum cleanly, and throw in a little picking on
  the high strings, this song is really nice. It's as easy as that!

Here are three basic ways to play the lead guitar part (the rhythm
guitar is capo 2 in G):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NO CAPO:
A   x02200
D   x00230
E   022200
F#m 202200
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PARTIAL CAPO:

345-capo 2nd fret.

G   3x0000 or 320003 or 320033 etc.
C   x30010 or x32000 or x32010 or x32013 or 870000
D   000200 or 054000 or 320000+7 (+7 = this fingering 7 frets up)
Em x22000 or c22000 or c20000 (c = same fret as the partial capo)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ALTERNATE-TUNED:
The way derek actually plays this is DGDGAD-tuned, capo 2.
WARNING:  GUITAR STRINGS ARE MORE LIKELY TO BREAK SOONER IF YOU
CHANGE TUNINGS!  (I have received complaints.)
 3. tab of derek's intro (transcribed by salm127)
There's a Stirring INTRO  (Caedmon's Call)
Open G2 Tuning (DGDgad)
Capo 2
Tab by salm127
A fingerpicking intro - use the thumb for G, D and g strings,
and fingers for a and d strings.  Timing is the main thing -
(see next paragraph) - the only hard part is the pulling
and hammering,which could be optional.
This song is 3/4 time, and playing the open G (5th) bass
note on the 1st beat of every measure is helpful in keeping
the time right (and playing like the cd).  In most of the
measures the sequential playing of open G, open D, and open
g (3rd) notes keeps the 3 beats of the measure.
Couldn't think of a clear way to distinguish between
quarter notes, sixteenths, etc - you need to listen to the
intro over and over in addition to studying the tab.
h = hammer, p = pull, s = slide
