More songs by Caedmon's Call

This transcription is not my own work; it was contributed to the site by another Caedmon's Call fan.

I haven't had a lot of time for guitar recently, but this is one of several tabs that various nice people have sent me. I haven't reviewed or editted them, so no guarantees about accuracy, but I'm sure people will find them useful. If you have transcribed a Caedmon's Call or derek webb song that's not already on this site, please feel free to send it in to be shared here.

This is tabbed from memory, but here is how I remember it, anyway. There is
actually a band-sanctioned BitTorrent tracker that has made the original demo
tape available for free download (with permission, of course). IndieRiver.net
has this and also many live bootlegs (also shared with permission) available
with free membership, of the various members of the Square Peg Alliance.

IN THE SHADOW - by Aaron Tate
as performed by Caedmon's Call on their demo cassette transcribed by vonculus

NOTES:
The key is E. I've played this in standard tuning, which sounds okay, but I
believe they played it in Open E major (E-B-E-G#-B-E). I'm not going to put
all the fiddly-bits on here, but this will give you a place to start.

Suggested fingerings for Open Emaj:

    E D A
e +-0-X-0--
b +-0-3-2--
G#+-0-1-1--
E +-0-2-0--
B +-0-3-2--
E +-0-X-0--

E
In the shadow of your wings
I will sing, my soul thirsts for you
My body longs for the one
In a dry and weary land, where water is not

D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing
D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing

E
In the shadow of your wings
I will sing, my soul is satisfied
with the richest roots
And my gracious lips, are praising you

D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing
D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing

E
In the shadow of your wings
I will sing, through night watches
To your dawn I cling
When fears are my refuge (?), in the shadow of your wings

D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing
D A E
Oh, Oh I will sing
